Experience
Dr. D. Millar is a general surgeon at Utah Valley Hospital, where he serves as the medical director of the hospital’s regional trauma program. Board-certified in both general surgery and surgical critical care, Dr. Millar specializes in treating traumatically injured patients and managing complex cases in the intensive care unit.
Originally from Salt Lake City, he completed his undergraduate studies at Brigham Young University and earned his medical degree from the University of Utah. He went on to complete his general surgery residency at the University of Utah, followed by a surgical critical care fellowship at the University of Cincinnati. He was an associate professor of surgery at University of Cincinnati for 7 years until 2021 when he returned to Utah and has since led the trauma program at Utah Valley Hospital. In addition to trauma and critical care, Dr. Millar maintains a broad general surgery practice that includes hernia repairs, gallbladder surgery, treatment of skin and soft tissue conditions, and basic gastrointestinal procedures. He is deeply committed to serving both his local community and the broader region with expert, compassionate care.
